Jon took a deep breath and closed his eyes. There was no point in trying to look at a hallway made to deceive every one of your senses. He steadied his breathing as Michaels laugh became a disappointed noise in the distance again. Painstakingly slow he got to his feet. Jon did not reach for the wall, nor did he listen for the soft thumps his feet made on the carpet. He kept his eyes firmly shut and continued walking the hallways.
There was no point in trying to know where you were going, if there was nowhere to go.- - -
In a world where Jane Prentiss is nothing but a nice, yet quite worm-filled lady, the S1 archives crew faces a distorted man. And maybe Elias Bouchard is a bit too eager to get his Archivist marked. Maybe Jon wanders far too deep into the hallways -

He heard a few kids burst into boisterous laughter, sneakers squeaking against the floor as the thudding of footsteps seemed to near his location until finally, the door the the bathroom swung open, a out of breath kid barreling in and slamming the door behind him shut and locking it for good measure before hiding in a stall.
Karl was sure that his eyebrows had skyrocketed so high they were touching his hairline at this point. The person occupying the stall next to him was breathing hard. His breaths fraying into whimpers at the end as small sobs echoed in the locked bathroom.
This was awkward.

They were all once humans, having been transformed after coming in contact with what are labelled as mutagens, which includes viruses and parasites. Now, as for specters…” his wife continued. Was she still his wife? It didn’t feel like it. Would he have to divorce her now? Or was the fact that she had been presumed dead enough to consider them officially separated? “It’s a bit different. They have to specifically originate from a fungus; or what you’ve roughly identified before as ‘the mold’.”

Dabi is just trying to protect the very concerning Skoll from a monster they just can't catch.
Yamada Hizashi really isn't concerned with any of this, only wanting to forcefully adopt the cute kid that's been calling in to his radio show.

When Ethan was fourteen, his world went up in flames. When he was fourteen, he took his mother's gun and escaped the city with a wagon of other survivors who knew better than to betray their names or faces to the smiling people in uniforms who claimed to be aid workers. He learned early that help is not always help, and that people are rarely who they claim to be, or even who they think they are.
He learned early not to let anyone else decide for him the difference between monsters willing and monsters made.
(Or, Ethan Winters, instinctive parent, Raccoon City survivor, and That Guy who the Gods just cannot seem to let die, does not kill the severely abused, mentally ill child bioweapon he finds in Louisiana. Instead, he takes her, and runs. To say this changes things is an understatement.) -

“Jonah Magnus.” The cloudy silhouette snarled as it’s hand clamped tightly around Jonah's ascot. That was indeed his name, but Jonah couldn’t begin to fathom what he did to have it spat out with such hatred.
But nonetheless, Jonah was a gentleman and he would kindly address the angry figure as politely as possible, “Yes, and you are?”
“What?” The form spluttered as it slowly came into focus. Ah, yes. That probably wasn’t the proper response to being held at gunpoint by a random stranger. Must have been the blow to his head.
