Bucky blinks. “You want me to come meet your ex wife and her wife?”
“Yeah, they’re amazing,” Steve says, with some extra enthusiasm. Bucky guesses he knows he has to sell him on it. “And, really, only if you want. But they like throwing dinner parties, and you’d be a new guest, so…that excites them.”
He starts sifting through the million insecurities that make him want to run away and avoid being in the same room with Steve's very intimidating-sounding ex, wife or no-wife. Bucky hedges. “You know, I’m more of a brunch guy,” he says, which gets a knowing smile from Steve, at least.
