Jayce came back to himself, piece by piece. Seconds, feeling like hours. He could feel the blood rushing in his ears, every beat of his heart marching on.
Why was his heart still beating?
He clawed at the flesh above his heart, craving to dig his fingers into his rib cage and pry it open to stop the incessant beat. He didn’t want to listen to it anymore, he had no need for something that was meant to be Viktors, but Viktor didn’t want it. He rejected him.

‘He must have been tired, I really should be more stern with him about his self care’ Viktor thought, eyebrows pulling together slightly frustrated at himself for not advocating more for his partner's wellbeing.
Viktor pulled himself from his thoughts to walk over to the occupied bed, looking for some warmth and comfort he knew would be waiting for him there, but he was not expecting the sight he saw when climbing under the covers.

Viktor started to stir more, Jayce noted that he definitely will be awake in a few moments, he continued his ministrations until he heard soft moans elicit from his partner. The moans laced with sleep, higher pitched than usual. Jayce shivered, and started up his worshipping, slightly more noisy this time, looking for Viktor's attention as he first woke up. A hand snakes down to lace in Jayce's hair, and pulls slightly. He smiles and moves his head to rest on Viktor's thigh, licking his lips.
“Good morning, beautiful.”

“Stop THAT, Jayce. I am NOT in need of your pity, I don’t want our dynamic to shift, we are PARTNERS, EQUALS. When we step into this room we are scientists, Hextech cofounders, we COULD have been something more if it weren’t for your damn hero complex. For your incessant need to SAVE me. It’s not equal anymore, you see me beneath you.” Viktor spit out, voice giving way on the last few words.
Jayce opened his mouth to start to speak, but Viktor cut him off.
“If we can’t be equals, then fine. I will seemingly have to rewrite your vision of me in your mind. Maybe in the only way you know how.” Viktor says, steadying himself for what he was planning to do. Jayce needed to see someone dominant, and capable. Not the weak person he saw with his injury. Jayce needed orders, knowing that for all the dominant energy the public saw, he was just desperate to be told. Viktor's eyes darkened, cold and neutral. He straightened his back and as much as he was capable, squaring his shoulders to fill out his form. He looked directly at Jayce, and started to speak

Summary
Dennis Whitaker is a newly MS2, is juggling his classes, part time jobs and being unhoused, while narrowly trying to escape burnout.
One day, he spills his coffee all over another man while trying to get a book from the library. Mortified by the experience he can only find comfort in the fact he will never see this stranger ever again. That is until that man appears in class as a guest lecturer a couple days later.Michael Robinavitch is taking some time off, over the anniversary of his mentor's death. Feeling too cooped up inside his own home he decides to get in touch with some old friends at the University of Pittsburgh. He is invited as a guest lecturer when when he runs into a particular man who catches his attention.
After their encounter at the library, the two men keep running into each other. Seemingly tied by an invisible magnetic force.
Or; After embarrassing himself in front of a hot older man, Dennis keeps running in to him. The med student tries his best to hide the fact that he's homeless, but the closer he gets to Michael Robinavich, the more difficult it becomes to keep up his facade.
