Summary
“Well, this sucks for Dustin,” Will jokes as he slips the shotgun off his shoulder and pulls a shell out of his jacket pocket, loading it in. “First he misses my magical powers, now he’s gonna miss this.”
Mike laughs in response. He watches as Will hefts the shotgun up, making sure the butt is sat snug against his shoulder. Will’s eyes narrow as he lines up the gun with the generator, and Mike feels butterflies in his stomach at how self-assured he is with it. He sees Will take a breath in then slowly exhale, his finger pulling the trigger.

Summary
Will decided he’d rather slip away into himself and observe everyone else rather than verbally participate. Which is what he’d been doing, successfully, he might add, for several weeks now. He’d still give just enough in group settings so no one would notice his lack of contribution to the conversation. And when he thought about it, he preferred it this way. He didn’t need eyes on him all the time, and he didn't need to be the center of attention. He’d rather watch and listen to his friends than overpower them with his thoughts or feelings.
Spying made it sound like it was wrong. But, if he changed it to observing… that was something everyone did.
Will began observing everyone.
