This. This right here is everything to me <3 I few parts that really stood out to me:
"Spock's eyes were bright. "It is the most logical thing we have ever done."
Jim laughed, then kissed him, tasting tomato sauce and hope.”
I love Spock’s surprisingly dramatic statement and the fact that he says it while eating pizza :)"Twelve weeks," Bones repeated. Then, suddenly, his face crumpled and his eyes went suspiciously bright. "Oh, Jim. Jim, that's—" His voice cracked. "Dammit, I promised myself I wouldn't cry.”
Bonesssss!! You can cry!! This was so sweet and man you captured Karl’s McCoy so well! I could here his voice while reading…Jim opened his mouth to argue, saw the fierce protectiveness in Bones's eyes, and closed it again. "Fine. We'll work something out."
"Damn right we will." Bones crossed his arms. "And for the record, you're going to be a hell of a father. Both of you.”
Very true, Bones, on both counts. I love how nice he is despite himself ;)I can confirm that Iowa winters are in fact brutal and I am not even a Vulcan… Your writing, your characterization of everyone, your handling of the complexities of family - utterly glorious! I also really appreciate the total normalization of pregnancy and birth for Jim as a man. I’m transmasculine and interesting in kids maybe someday and it's really hard to find meaningful representations of men having kids - thank yoooou!! I really really appreciate the care and attention you put into this story and i enjoyed it so much <3<3<3
