“I’m sorry,” Scott whispered. “I should have listened to you. I should have kept an eye on them. I shouldn’t have given them an opportunity to be alone with you. I shouldn’t have left you in the first place.” It felt strange speaking to a stone that couldn’t hear nor answer him, but he forced himself to keep on talking, anyway. “You … I never have shown it, didn’t know how to, or maybe it was just my pride getting in my way. But … God, Avid, how can I even put it into words?”
He looked down at the black rose, his fingers brushing over the thorns and caressing the nearly entirely closed petals.
“You took me completely off-guard. And I don’t know how you did it, but you took my heart when I wasn’t looking—something that I didn’t think possible anymore. And the worst thing about it is, I can’t even be mad at you for it. How can I, when you brought the light back into my heart, when you taught me how to actually, truly care again?” He sighed deeply before he whispered, “My biggest regret is that I didn’t kiss you one more time.”

He needed a vampire. Preferably an ancient vampire who considered humans below him, and would be old enough to cause the majority of the coven to cower. One that was not mentioned anywhere in that file, and would not be assumed to have anything to do with the organisation. One who has just passed his final review, with admittedly flying colours.

"What is that."
"Um." He blinks once, twice and looks away before the third one. Unable to stand how Scott watches him, unblinking in his intensity. "A nest?" Scott's irritation doesn't wane with his answer, if anything — if possible — it only grows stronger. "My nest?" He tries instead.
He looks back into the corner he had claimed as his, a good few feet from his bed and tucked cosily into the corner, safe. The bed he had been gifted, in all its bare-mattressed glory, sat squarely in the centre of the room, exposed on all sides. His nest had walls all around, nestled comfortably where they converged, right in the junction so he can push himself back into the wall and feel secure. Surrounded on all sides and eyes on the door, comforted, even if it's nothing but cold, unfeeling brick.
"That," Scott spits, no small amount of venom in his voice, "is not a nest."

Shelby stood on the top of the lake’s tower, still reeling from the thrill of teleporting to their scarlet beacon, breathing in the fresh air and soaking in the sun. They turned, a massive, toothy grin on their face and determination in their heart. Scott, Pyro, and Owen loomed behind her.
“Okay, guys! No more being grumpy,” Shelby exclaimed. “It’s beach time!”
The two oldest vampires leveled her with an unimpressed look.
“Shelby, this is a lake.”

Two weeks after the battle of the hotel, Charlie and the others are still reeling from their losses and changes. The ship's horn sounded again, loud, washing through the air like a tangible thing he could grab if he tried hard enough, and another shiver wracked his body, involuntary and painful. The relief he felt was overwhelmed by the reminder he still had to sit in this squalid boat until his rescue.
He heard a contemplative noise from behind him that he had learned a while ago meant Sebastian was assessing his health.
"Here, young master," Sebastian said quietly, wrapping the wool coat on his shoulders tighter, as if that could help, as if he wasn't still just as wet as before. When Sebastian pulled his hand away, Ciel was dismayed to find himself automatically leaning with it, chasing the contact.
It had been a rough night. He hadn't slept yet. He doubted it meant anything.
Ciel and Sebastian, in the aftermath of the Campania's sinking, in the day after being rescued.

Elastic is objectively useful. Its stretch lends itself well to accommodating for different sizes and shapes, leading it to be form-fitting and truly multi-purpose. It admittedly has a wide range of uses in almost every field.
The keyword here being 'almost' because elastic, in all its diverse utility, should be kept away from Ciel's eyepatches.
