    Meng Yao never went to the Nie sect. After being pushed down the stairs by his father, he walked back up to Koi tower. Jin Guangshan, instead of kicking him down again and possibly killing him in the process, decided to make an example out of his insolent bastard son. Meng Yao wasn’t made part of the family, instead, he is forced to work as a servant for them.
    One day, however, when the time for Jin Zixuan’s lectures in Cloud Recesses arrived, Jin Guangshan told Meng Yao he would be going with his brother. Meng Yao couldn’t believe his own ears. For one short moment, he was the happiest he had always been. That was until the whole room started laughing. Mocking him for believing he would be allowed to attend the lectures as a young master of the Jin. Meng Yao would be going to Gusu, but he wouldn’t be going as a student. He was meant to be the gift the Jin sect presented to Lan Xiansheng and Lan Zongzhu.
