Alec sighs again, his head beginning to ache. “I don’t know. I’ll think about it. But for now, he’s relieved and happy. And Izzy, I… I want to finally live before I die. To be reckless. To be happy. To love and be loved."

The man made a small noise that sounded like a soft laugh. “Alright, you want me to explain to you how I’m handling this case and what I’m looking for?” he asked, pointing towards the computer. “I mean, you’re the one I talked to on the phone, right?”
“Yeah yeah, that’s me,” Alec quickly said. The words eased out something inside of him and suddenly he felt his cheeks starting to blush. “And I’d love that.”
Magnus grabbed a chair from the computer beside the one he was using and rolled it closer, gesturing for Alec to take the seat. “Come on closer,” he ordered softly, and the boy obeyed.
He slipped right down beside Magnus, their chairs touching, and suddenly he could smell the subtle scent from the man’s cologne and it made Alec’s head spin ever so lightly for just a moment.
(Or the AU where Magnus and Alec are both doctors working in the same department, each hurting in their own way. But somewhere down the road at a busy pediatric hospital, they figure out how to slowly, but steadily, heal in the presence of each other )
