Summary
It’s December 1st and Lena Luthor just got dumped.
Although, technically, it’s worse than that. It’s December 1st and Lena Luthor’s fiancée just called off their engagement.
With her life upended, she wanders into a random café and walks away with more than just a cup of coffee. As her friendship blossoms with a blonde barista, she can’t help but wonder: How much can life really change in a year?

Summary
“You said it was bad,” Lena managed to hoarsely respond after a beat too long.
Nodding, Lillian stared up at the ceiling for a moment, her throat bobbing as her lips twisted wryly. “I’m dying. Stage four pancreatic cancer.”
“How long do you have?”
“A month, maybe two.”
“Oh.”
-
Returning home for the first time in twelve years to the news that her mother is dying, the last thing that Lena wants is to run into the childhood best friend she hasn't spoken to since she left Midvale all those years ago. Especially when said friend was the reason Lena swore she'd never go back home again.
Still harbouring the sting of teenage love and rejection, as well as the pressure of her unsatisfying career and resentment towards her mother, Lena's life is brought to a halt in her hometown as she's forced to confront years of repressed feelings and the truth about what she really wants out of life while waiting for her mother to die.

Summary
This remarkable letter of unknown provenance surfaced recently in the cuneiform collection of the University of West Wessex. Addressed to Azirapil from a Mr. “Crawly,” it appears to be begging for the other’s return to Ur from a western journey with another individual, Abiraham. The relationship between the two (brothers? business partners? friends?) is unknown.

Summary
Through every wild accusation and baseless claim, not one of them wavers in their conviction that Kara Danvers is their own personal black cat. And this belief seems to be backed by senior management, who after several thousand dollars in damages and numerous complaints/threats to quit, have barred Kara from the test kitchen and restricted her to restaurant reviews and promo material.
Lena seriously considers getting the water tested for toxins. Or psychotropic drugs.
Because while she may well consider pastries to be an art, Lena is first and foremost a woman of science.
And she absolutely, positively does not believe in jinxes.or
Lena's a chef who doesn't believe in jinxes. Kara's a food writer who just so happens to be one.

“I am your caddie,” Kara says, then looks up from where she’s been reading the grass, a teasing smile on her lips. “Right now, even.”
or
Lena finds her new caddie on a golf course in the middle of nowhere, and then, she finally starts winning trophies.
