Summary
Why do human souls persist after death? A question which has stumped scholars and given birth to many a wild tale, but the answer is simpler and more complicated than one would think.
The angel laughs at them, their delight as innocent as it is cruel. “Do you remember, Kris?” They whisper in their dreams. “Do you remember how we first met?”
They didn’t, in fact, remember it. They simply couldn’t. Humans are not supposed to remember their past lives.

Summary
Kris tasted like cigarettes and sugar. Susie could smell the apple in their hair and the tobacco they reeked of as she impulsively kissed them. All together, it was like having a smoke while eating an apple pie. But instead, you’re watching the apple pie light up its own cig while in your lap.
Susie hated it, the first time.
kris was the cause of most of susie’s stupid choices.
