“What?” Enid asked, her brow furrowed. She ate her own handful of pomegranate seeds, humming delightedly.
Wednesday usually preferred the sounds of pain and fear – like that special little noise Pugsley would make when she had him strapped to the stretching rack – but this was nice too.
Maybe even better.
A trail of juice ran down Enid’s chin. It looked like blood. She was glorious.
“Did you seriously just call Addams over here with a shout and a wave just so she could get a treat from you like some kind of dog? And she went along with it?”

Enid choked back her disgust. She had seen deer torn apart, whole animals swallowed, while running with the pack. She could handle the horrifying image of a teenage boy eating lunch.
“And I suppose that’s you?” Tyler asked, mouth open and full of food.
Enid gagged. Nope, nope, this was definitely worse.
“Trust me, by the time we leave this place, I’ll have her number and a date.”
