    Summary

Perhaps Guts had only ever worshipped him like a wounded dog. With a devotion that was born out of something pitiful, whining, and irreparable. Some godless beast, curled up beneath the altar of a god—knowing naught about what it meant to be holy, but what it meant to be held in the arms of holiness.

And perhaps Griffith had only ever held him there out of a desperation that had never been divine. It had been something far more deplorable; an uncontrollable fear for the dog turned sacrificial lamb, cradled in the arms of its executioner.

Do you want to be a god? the taunting voice scratched on the inside of his skull, insistent. When he squinted open his eyes, he stared into the splendid figure of a knight above him—in the ageless falcon-crested helm and white-silver armor of a man that had died in what felt like a millennium ago.

    I do, Griffith rasped.

Fool, said the White Hawk. Gods do not fall in love with mortal men.

    Summary

“Cook,” Zoro rumbles. Sanji goes slightly tense, though he doesn’t turn around. “You’re actually serious.”

“It’s been a little while,” Sanji mutters. “Figured out some shit, you know.”

No, Zoro doesn’t know. He and Sanji haven’t spoken for nearly nine years.

    Summary

“You know what?” Sanji tells the room at large, a cigarette clamped firmly between his teeth as he tries to steady his nerves, while simultaneously waiting for his impending doom. “I’m just going to come right out and say it, this is entirely my own fault.”

His companion stirs next to him, his shoulders rising and falling to show he’d heard Sanji, even though his sole remaining eye stays focused on the image in front of them. “That tracks,” he says easily. “Most things usually are.”

    Summary

The poison would have instantly killed a lesser man. Sanji finds a way to feel guilty about it, and Zoro is just as tenacious as ever.

Zoro is on death's door and somehow, for some god-forsaken reason, manages to make his way into the kitchen. Sanji can't fathom why.

    Summary

It’s strange the things that tie people back together. A backwards glance. A rash decision. Or in Crocodile and Doflamingo’s case, a severe psychotic episode in a dank alleyway at three in the morning. [Dofladile anthology with a tiny dollop of smut, now also with plot]
