Der elfte Doctor, Rory und Amy reisen einen Katzensprung entfernt vom Großbritannien der 2010er in das Deutschland der 2020er Jahre: Als Rory vorsichtig die Tür der TARDIS öffnet, finden sich die drei im Jahr 2023 in Jena auf der Deutschen Meisterschaft im Jugger wieder: Doch Hunderte von jungen Erwachsenen, die sich aus Spaß in dieser Sportart zwischen Fechten und Rugby mit gut gepolsterten Poolnudelstäben, auch Pompfen genannt, in Teams verprügeln sind nicht das ungewöhnlichste auf diesem Platz: Gerüchte gehen umher, dass zwei Juggergruppen ganz besonders für Aufruhr sorgen – und es sind ausgerechnet die beiden Teams, welche in Cosplays angereist sind. Als das Trio von dem Aufsehen erregenden Echsenteam “Seven Silurians” und den sehr beeindruckend realistischen Androidenkostümen der “Küberflieger” hört, schlagen beim Doctor und Amy die Alarmglocken. Anders als bei Rory, bei ihm schlägt etwas anderes: Er sich. Mit anderen. Denn durch ein whacky Missverständnis wird Rory schnell für ein spaßorientiertes Juggerteam, die “Leipziger Partyhände”, rekrutiert. Und das alles nur, weil seltsamerweise ständig Mitspieler*innen wie vom Erdboden verschwinden ... (dramatische Musik).
