“Thought about what I said last week?” Jesus, Steve wasn’t waiting was he? No small talk, no pleasantries.
“Straight to the point, Stevie. Are you that blunt with all the girls?” Eddie tapped the bar with his knuckles, garnering a look from the bartender as Eddie held up two fingers. They exchanged nods as a finality to their wordless transaction and Eddie’s attention returned back to Steve.
“Only the ones who I want wrist deep inside me,” it was said so flatly and void of expression, Steve ending his sentence with a swig of the beer that was placed in front of him, that Eddie almost choked on his own drink.

Summary
If you’d asked Steve about his relationship with food, he’d smile and say “Fine, I guess,” because in his mind that was the truth. In high school, it wasn’t something he ever had to worry about. He ate regularly (and healthily, because his mother was always pushy about that) and anything excess was worked off during whatever sport he was doing at the time. The fridge was always fully stocked, he snacked like anyone else would, and everything was fine.
It isn’t until after Vecna that things start to change.
As the days go by, he starts to pay more attention to what he eats. He buys more greens and fruit and ugh, celery, and insists that it’s what’s best for him. It’s just to be healthy. He just wants to be healthy.
That’s how it starts, at least, but one comment from Dustin changes everything.
