“Look. It was not a prank. You called the Divine Relief Office. They sent me to grant you a wish.” He sounds so certain. So firm. Almost exasperated. But Keith doesn’t believe him. Not one bit. He’s not going to be made fun of like this.
“You’re literally a student at the Garrison,” Keith says flatly. “You’re just a guy. Just a cadet. You’re literally in a college dorm with a suitcase.”
Lance’s nose scrunches, upper lip curling. He lifts his chin slightly. “I’m a student now, but I’m not just some guy. I’m a God of Happiness. More powerful than you could ever imagine. I have the power to mold and shape the world around me. I’m only here, pretending to be human, because you made a wish. And I’m granting it.” He holds his arms wide, shit-eating grin curling mockingly, and Keith feels the dread curling in his gut. “Congratulations. I’m now required to be your boyfriend forever.”
Keith accidentally calls the Divine Relief Office and is granted one wish. Lance is sent to grant the wish. But Keith thinks it’s a prank. He mockingly wishes for Lance to be his boyfriend and the wish gets granted. Surprising everyone. Now Lance is stuck on Earth, pretending to be human, and Keith is stuck with Lance.

“You always leave for Blue’s mating flights,” Keith snaps, irritation and aggression radiating off of him in waves— but— but Lance doesn’t feel any threat from it. “Why haven’t you left?”
“What’s it to you?” Lance fires back, all defiance as he stands his ground.
Keith doesn’t answer. Instead, he sets his jaw, grinding his teeth with furrowed brows. His nostrils flare. Fists clench and stretch at his sides. His shoulders move with heavy breaths. There’s a darkening shade of red high on his cheekbones…

Time seems to stand still on Keith’s quiet little beach. Far from civilization, in an old cabin filled with memories, he often feels like he’s living in a bubble. While he can’t imagine living anywhere else— far too drawn to the magic of the ocean and the beauty in silence— he sometimes wishes that his home was a little less cold and a little less lonely.
Those wishes come true the day he rescues an injured sea lion on the beach. It just takes him a while to figure it out.

So now he’s stuck living in a cave with an adolescent, grumpy dragon who doesn’t seem to want him there but still won’t let him go. Not to mention his annoying habit of defeating every suitor who tries to come rescue Lance.
As much as he hates to admit it, he’s probably going to be here for a while. So he might as well settle in and get to know this dragon named Keith.

Summary
As a Sentinel Wei Wuxian is constantly scrutinized by the cultivation world. He usually doesn’t mind, but when Lan Wangji labels him as a threat Wei Wuxian is pushed into proving he’s more than his designation in order to befriend his unwanted rival.
As Guide Lan Wangji needs to be in constant control to ensure that other people’s emotions do not overwhelm him and to keep his own emotions from influencing others. This control is challenged when he meets Wei Wuxian, who seems to break down every one of Lan Wangji’s barriers.

He had thought Lan Wangji wanted sex from him, and he probably would have been prepared to give it, even though that would make him little more than a very expensive whore. For some reason, the realisation that sex isn’t what Lan Wangji is asking for is disappointing, while also being terrifying and exhilarating all at the same time.

Lan Zhan had moved out of his brother’s apartment only eight months ago, and he was already failing. He’d felt like a can of compressed air at his brother’s. Now he felt like a grenade with the pin pulled.
He hated that he knew what compressed air and grenades were.
He hated so much. It didn’t seem possible to be filled with this much enmity. It felt as if resentment oozed from his pores these days. If only he could cultivate with it. Maybe then he could figure out how to pay his rent.
But that had all been left behind. Golden cores, cultivation, swords and righteousness and the beauty of a world that had a place for him. Gone.
No, not just gone. Destroyed.
