Summary
Alternative AU because I personally don't think the Prototype is evil. I love the original story of Poppy Playtime and this is just my take on it. The Player does not exist here. 1006 has a different design here, will be mentioned throughout the story and especially as to why he looks the way he does.
1006 manages to save Theodore before he got turned into CatNap by initiating The Hour Of Joy. He is left with the remaining orphans in the now broken and abandoned factory. After 4 years of keeping the children alive there is finally hope for them to escape and find their true better place. But what about the other toys? What about Poppy herself? What about the Prototype's secret? And will he be able to protect the orphans? Read to find out!

The doctor softens his voice. He rarely does this. Never for children. But as his mentor once said, every adjustment is necessary in pursuit of a perfect experiment.
“I don’t think this is bad,” he says. “It’s a charming hobby.”
The effect is immediate.
Quinn’s face brightens so suddenly that it is almost startling. “There’s nothing to be ashamed of,” the doctor continues, unperturbed. “You’re simply playing with toys the way they were meant to be played with.”
The boy brushes hair from his eyes and, shyly, places a hand atop the doctor’s.

“I think you’re an okay doctor,” The boy says.
He grins. “You think so?”

Summary
A former scientist for Playtime returns to the factory after many years. Deep regrets haunt him as he returned to try and get one of the experiments out of the factory, Theodore Grambell.
Even so, he had helped make the experiments. Sure he felt slightly more guilt, but it doesn’t take his actions away. While he knows he’s not a good person, he can’t seem to get away from the toys.

Stubborn scientist who used to work at Playtime. Co returns because he lowkey left his son in the building and really wants him back.
First chapter will be in first person since theres not much point in making it third person. Everything after chapter 1 will all be third person apart from in dreams or hallucinations. Hallucinations are still a 50/50.
