Summary
Mirabel and Camilo Madrigal were twins. Not with the same father but twins all the same. When they were both only about eight months old, their mother (a Witch named Stella, although they won't know this until much, much later in life) was killed right as she entered the Encanto. They were imminently taken in by the Madrigals and raised, knowing that they were twins biologically, yet raised to technically be cousins. ["Yeah, we know it's really weird." Mira said to someone "Abuela made confusing, she'd get all annoyed when we said we were twins." Cami added, "Even then we're only half siblings." They said in unison.]
But that is not what we are focusing on. (Well, not entirely. But it will be gone over) Not we are focusing on if these two Half-bloods, -in both senses of the term- can manage to balance their time between,
A family that has been breaking apart for decades
A needy and demanding village that relies on that family for everything
A school that for being supposedly the "Safest Place on earth" is very dangerous
A summer camp that is their only chance of survival

Mirabel has been selectively mute all her life but no one believes her, she also has social anxiety, but no on believes her on that either... after all why would anyone believe her? A madrigal selectively mute and with social anxiety? Alma would never allow that.
