War is made up of moments like this one; one of the good ones.
Sirius snorted. The voice sounded like Moony, but that didn’t mean anything. He could rattle off a dozen spells right now that could imitate sound, cadence, humour. Wand poised, defence strategies at the forefront of his mind, he edged closer towards the wall and leaned out into the living room. He hestitated, then aimed a wordless spell at the door to make it appear transparent. The wood melted away to reveal Remus. It was Remus, tired and weary, pale and thin, in his most worn cloak, leaning against the door frame, his wand trained on the door. The wolf Patronus had followed Sirius and now sat quietly, looking on, as if waiting for him to decide.
Sirius didn’t want to decide. Sirius wanted to kill something.
