Summary
Blood in the streets and the sound of guns firing in the distance. For other children this would be nightmare fuel to hear but for Alejandro it's his nightly lullaby. He even knew from a very young age that he was blessed being an alpha. He would be able to leave this town for good and just settle elsewhere, where ever he wanted. However something pulled him back from his daydreams of seeing the world beyond the hills of his hometown. Or more like someone. Rudy was the omega child of the house next door. He was the one whose smile reached his eyes when he saw Alejandro and whose laughter sounded like music in his ears. From that day on Alejandro promised to protect him and maybe even run away with him in the future. But what if this promise became impossible?

It's rare for omegas to be in the military and even rarer to see them in the field, but there is no doubt in Ghosts mind now when he sat next to the sergeant during the briefing of the new mission. Under the scent blockers and surpressants of his teammate he smelled something soft and inviting. A part of Ghost, which he thought he buried as deep as Simon started to growl out. Mine.

It was never easy in Las Almas, especially when you were an omega. The cartel overpriced the scent blockers for common folk and many changes were about to happen. Alejandro always had a smile on his face, but this time he couldn't even try to fake one. All that he felt in the moment was disgust and anger. Towards who he couldn't say. To the law, to the instructor, or towards himself. But what he could say was that he never wanted to see that expression on Rudys face. How utterly defeated and distraught he looked. But the instructor was clear. „No unmated omegas in the military.“
