Somewhere in the multiverse…
While preparing a mission against the eco-terrorist group Avalanche, a Shinra Commander named Aesis goes rogue. Her unit, a mysterious group of elite SOLDIERS, is terminated, closing the file on some of Shinra’s most depraved efforts to reproduce the success of Project S. The company’s general, Sephiroth, is tasked with eliminating the traitor before she can be recruited by eco-terrorists plunging his city into chaos.
Plagued by memories he cannot understand and questioning the company he represents, Sephiroth sets off on a mission to find the woman who could change his fate forever.

Summary
Barret has taken the child he found at the Northern Crater back home. But he doesn't want to believe that the seven year old might actually be who he seems to be. After all, Sephiroth was a monster. And this is just a kid - they can't be the same person.
Particularly not when the kid in question seems more at home in a lab than a home and acts like the sky is something unknown and terrifying.
