His skin bursts at the seems, his eyes burn too bright and his grip is too strong. He bends door handles and leaves bruises on friends. His laugh flashes too many teeth and his blood is reluctant to flow, viscous and too light to be truly red. It appears almost rust-like with a sheen that turns more gold than maroon.
His muscles flex with every move and the sun seems to caress him on the battlefield, its loving rays bending and twisting until it flatters him in a way light flatters mirrors. Blinding.

Dennis resorts to taking smoke breaks to escape his temper. Dana approaches him, cigarette in hand, with a proposal from her and Abbot. Three cigarettes later, and Dennis is fully on board with fixing Robby's no good attitude.

Daniel tilted his head. Come to think of it, he always sees Dr. Whitaker working himself down to the bone.
And looking back at it, there was one person Whitaker seemed... different around. “Maybe,” Daniel said slowly, “he’s married to one of the doctors in here."

Dana levels a look at him as she hangs up the phone, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
“The one and only.” She glances over at the black thermos sitting innocently next to them, a bright yellow sticker faded with some age, corners curling, with bold letters saying ‘good job’.

He can’t keep his eyes from darting down to where Whitaker’s thighs grip the saddle, how he slides forwards on it with every downward bow of the bull and back as it pushes up.
