Kitty’s hand was still tight in Kurt’s, and she wound the other around his upper arm, doubly-clung to him, and together they padded softly over to investigate. Kurt bent, and Kitty bent with him, and he used his free hand to gently push aside some boxes. There was a squeak, some scuttling, and then Kurt’s laughter:
“Just a little mouse!” He announced, and Kitty felt her whole body sag with relief.
“Good,” She said, a shiver traveling down her spine, “this place gives me the major willies.”
“Jinkies, Velma,” Kurt snickered, “not the willies.”
