I could hardly ask for more proof that you won’t hurt me, by now.
and the fear and pleasure I’d felt had been inseparable. This time, there was no fear at all, and the pleasure was so much sweeter for the certainty I was safe with the person holding me down.
From above, the act looked like violence; from within my skin, it felt like protection,

Summary
That sharp-edged thing caught ceaselessly under Blanc's tongue is shaped an awful lot like the question Who the hell's looking after you? The more time passes, the harder it is to refrain from asking it.

Bookmarker's Notes
How does the church handle its problem children? It foists responsibility onto someone else, ignores the problem in the hopes they'll go away; it isolates and punishes them, pressures them into punishing themselves, and pretends it's out of their hands and left up to the so-called will of "god".
Wicks wasn't an outlier, he was exactly what he had seemed to be: a man in a position of power, benefiting from that position in exactly the ways he had been enabled — even encouraged — to.

Summary
The one miracle to come out of all this was Benoit Blanc. Jud had assumed the detective would solve this case and move onto the next one, vanish out of Jud’s life with the same abruptness as his arrival. And he did disappear, often and swiftly, with few niceties or goodbyes.
But then a few days later he’d suddenly reappear: be it at hearings where Jud would have otherwise had to battle the tedium of bureaucracy alone, or online, posting statements to cushion some particularly devastating blows against Jud in the media, Benoit Blanc kept cropping up when he was needed the most.
Or,
An exploration of the "one year later" gap, from the moment the diamond falls from Martha's hand to the moment Jud pulls Blanc in for a hug.

So he bore it. He made it his own burden
“But there is no me outside of the church,” Jud said with a frown.
“Now who’s inventing the echo chamber,” the bishop shot back, not unkindly. At the word graceful, a patch of sunlight broke free from the clouds and lit them both up.
“I swear, the sun follows you, boy,” Blanc told him. -

Summary
Why do humans call it a crush, anyway? I’ve seen actual crushing, and it’s not romantic; it’s not even vaguely appealing. In fact, it’s pretty horrific. Same for when humans describe love as “falling” for someone, or say they’re “drowning” in sensation. I remain convinced that most of my Preservation humans are simply too naïve to know what these things actually feel like. But, speaking as someone who has fallen, drowned, and been crushed (although, thankfully not all at once), I can say with authority that being with Gurathin is nothing like that.

A series of glimpses into Murderbot exploring its sexuality and the experience of shared touch with Gurathin. The first chapter is pretty mild, but the series will earn its explicit rating in later installments. This work lives in the same world as the first work in the series (Virus), but can be read standalone.

Bookmarker's Notes
It wasn't bad, but I couldn't process it fast enough. It triggered a cascade failure.
That feels especially true when it comes to my body, which was made only to hurt and be hurt. No one was ever even meant to see my face. I deeply relate to Gurathin's impulse to tell the corporates to go to hell, and to do it by defacing (what is, in their view) their property.
It feels like there’s always something I need to tell him, even though objectively it’s never anything important.
