Summary
Magnus had known for days that something was going on with Alec; that he was working through something. So, it hadn’t been all that much of a surprise when Alec had come home saying they needed to talk. Well, not so much that they needed to talk, but more that Alec needed to tell him something.
The last thing he’d been expecting was for Alec to flip open the box, exposing its contents; dozens of bound journals he recognised immediately. Truth be told he hasn’t thought about those journals in years.
And Magnus’ stomach drops. Because it’s been, what… two? three? days since Magnus last saw his boyfriend and Alec looks destroyed. For a moment Magnus wondered if he’s missed something big happening but then his brain caught up and Magnus realised that Alec wasn’t injured and that he wasn’t just exhausted.
It’s heartbreak –Alec is heartbroken– and Magnus’ head spun because he knows it’s because of him.

Despite his many, many, many reservations, he knows that Magnus Bane, High Warlock of Brooklyn and lover of all things different, wouldn't care about the thing that set him apart even from other Shadowhunters.

But when a comment thrown out in anger leads Alec to believe Magnus would never accept him, will they find their way through?
(Spoiler alert they will but not without some tears and just a little lot a bit of angst first).
