Because he’s afraid that the dragons are never going to come, and no matter whatever crazy shit always happens in that cursed town that they call South Park, real life is way less exciting when you realize that dragons are not real. And what’s in store for you in the next chapters is coming to terms with the fact that you are going to grow up anyway, whether you want it or not. And the possibilities that life gives you will narrow down with age, little by little, and all of your dreams of glory are going to shrink down to the pettiness of the daily adult routine and morph into something else, into something less glorious and mundane, and they are all gonna end up like their parents.

"It's not for you," Kevin finally manages to say. There's not enough bite in his voice.
"King and Queen," Riko continues anyways. "One and two." He weighs the balance and finds that they're both equal. "My Queen." Riko's hand grazes Kevin's cheek, soft and tender. He trails down his chest, pulling at his jersey. He swipes his shoulder of dust that isn't there. His next words are chosen carefully; like a handpicked starting lineup.

"A Queen," are the first words that drawl out of his mouth. His fingernail scratches at the ink, trying to will it away. "What a fucking abomination."
Kevin's mouth dries up. He's played this moment in his head before. Thousands of times. What he would say, what he would do. But no words can get past his closed throat.
