He shook his head desperately at the man's words, clenching his jaw tightly shut, his own blood leaking into his mouth, it tasted foul, not near as good as animal blood or what he imagined human blood would taste like.
“No? It’s alright, I won't hurt you,” the man promised, taking another step.
The problem isn’t that Tommy is scared of being hurt, he’s scared that he’ll be the one inflicting pain, he shudders, whining wordlessly.
“I can’t let you stay in there,” he insisted, walking right up to the gate that was separating Tommy from the rest of the basement, the gate that was keeping Tommy from this human.

What kind of father was he for these things? What kind of father let his youngest son die?His wings draped along his back as he clung to his son's coffin. "Come home, Theseus." He whispered.

Summary
It felt like he had stopped existing.
Until it didn't.
Tommy felt his brother tense up under him.
"Let us go!" Chat suddenly shrieked and Tommy's eyes fluttered open as the drowsiness leaked away, allowing weariness to step in and nearly force him to get up and run. "It's open! Free us! There is a way out, Tommy! You can escape! It's safer there! We can be free!"
"Techno?" Tommy whimpered.

Or or: Tommy has been trapped in the Nether all his life with his newly acquired older brother. He was used to staying put, unable to open a portal to travel to the Overworld in fear of the deathly repercussions.
But suddenly one was open and they could be free. It'll probably be a bumpy ride, though, because the first people they come into contact with in the Overworld are royal sorcerers that just lost their kingdom thanks to an intricate and brutal coup that had been festering for almost a decade.
How fun for them.

Summary
Dream has Tommy wrapped in strings, a complete puppet under his full control. Dream finally gives Tommy a mask much like his own, one that changes Tommy for good. This is my take on what would have happened if Tommy didn't find it in him to break free from Dream's control.
