“Y’know, smoking's bad for you.” Ray's voice was much clearer here than in Gerard's fuzzy memories of when they'd first properly met.
“I know.” Gerard said, breathing out the smoke, turning to look at the man standing next to him.
Ray had a hood pulled over his head from a windbreaker that he had on, and in the dim light Gerard could see the top of his guitar case that was slung over his back. He could also see his smile pulled a bit too wide, and could barely see his eyes darting around like he didn’t want to look directly at Gerard.

“Are you hurt anywhere else?” She asked, watching Illi lean against the sink and sigh.
“No, I’m not bleeding anywhere else.” She spoke softly.

Cellbit is a monster hunter.

Phil finds himself smiling back, although he can’t quite summon the younger captain’s enthusiasm. “Yeah, maybe we will.”
“Aw, don’t give me that look,” Tubbo replies. The video sharpens just long enough for Phil to see his eyes flash, both the bright blue organic one and the flat black lens on the other side of his face. “We’re not giving up, okay? Charlie‘ll have you guys patched up and back to full speed in no time.”
Phil purses his lips. “Can I be honest with you, Toby?”
After a clusterfuck of a specimen-collection mission, three Federation space crews make their way home on damaged ships. Stuck in space over the holidays and with many of them injured, they try their best to make the most of it.

Although some of the tension in the woman’s shoulders loosened, she continued to keep the gun pointing at Cellbit. “How do I know you’re actually their parents? People are fucked up these days. Especially when it comes to kids.”
So Tallulah and Richarlyson were here. They were here, and they were probably right through the door to her left. But despite how badly Phil wanted to run past the woman to grab his daughter, he knew that right now, that would end with a bullet to the back.
“Let us see them,” Cellbit argued. “Then you can see.”
“But you could be trying to intimidate them. How do I know you haven’t, I don’t know, kidnapped them or something?” The woman questioned.
“They’re our kids! Why would we lie?” Etoiles asked.
“Because you took them into a fucking horde!”
or, while out scavenging for supplies, Tallulah and Richarlyson get separated from Phil, Cellbit, and Etoiles. This leads to an unexpected reunion.
