Summary
They watched the end of the millennium on the old beat-up pull-out sofa, the tv flickering in the suddenly too quiet room, with each tick of the countdown she felt an odd anticipation sweep through her. She and Pacey had spent innumerable New Years Eve's together, but never alone, and never with this strange thrum of tension between them
Joey and Pacey on NYE through the years. Mostly canon compliant.

Summary
“What the hell are you doing, Walter?” Rhonda yells at him once she shakes off her shock, stomping across the hashmarks of the field until she reaches the big idiot.
Charlie, always a little softer in his delivery, elects to address the obvious. “Your door, Wally. You can move on.”

Wally Clark has two options in front of him, walk back off the field or walk through his door. Frankly he's pissed about both.
What if there's a third?

Summary
She glances up from writing the author’s purpose in Ode to a Nightingale to see that Wally isn’t circling the examples of auditory, visual, and tactile imagery in the poem like she'd told him to.
He is staring at her.
“What?” she asks.
“Are you coming to the game tonight?”
She raises her eyebrows. But he doesn’t bat an eye, waiting on her expectantly, like he really doesn’t know what her answer will be. She huffs. “Football isn’t really my thing,” she says.
“You don’t want to support me on the field?” he asks, with big, puppy dog eyes.
“I think you get plenty of support on the field.”

Summary
“I read once that when Guillermo del Toro was a kid, he saw The Creature from the Black Lagoon, and he wanted the Gill-man and Kay to be together.”
He frowns. “I’ve never . . .”
“They don’t end up together. Gill-man and Kay. They’re not supposed to. So, Guillermo del Toro, when he grew up, he wrote a movie of his own, The Shape of Water, and in his movie, his version of Gill-man and his version of Kay, they live happily ever after.”
“Maddie.”
“I’m not just gonna walk away,” she says.
post-season 2. Maddie isn't ready to move on.
