Roy stood in the rain for a moment, allowing himself to get pelted. His suit was black anyway, so no one would even notice. He always looked this miserable.
"You comin' in, Granddad?" Jamie called from the top of the stairs. Roy's head snapped up, the rest of his body unmoving.
He grunted, shoved his hands in his pockets, and followed Jamie up the big staircase.
"You stole my umbrella," Jamie scoffed.
"No, Keeley stole your umbrella. You chose not to follow us and stay stuck in the rain, like the grumpy old man you are," Jamie reached up and ruffled some of the water out of Roy's hair, encouraging his curly hair to stick up. "You look nice, despite the rain."

Jamie sat on the bench in front of his locker, hiking his leg up so he could tie his laces, when a new, distinct voice broke through the hum of the players.
"Is everybody decent?" The woman in the doorway uncovered her eyes dramatically, and scoffed loudly when she saw all the lads were dressed. "Oh, come on!" Her over the top sarcasm suggested she was joking. Even Jamie knew that.
"Keeley!" Most of the boys responded, welcoming her into the locker room. Jamie wondered if she worked here, or if she was dating one of the players. She was pretty, and historically fit his type in women, but he kept those thoughts to himself.
"Oh! You're the new player, aren't you?" She chirped as she ran across the room towards Jamie's locker. Keeley stuck her hand out to him, and he shook it gratefully. "Keeley Jones of KBPR, PR extraordinaire! Very pleased to meet you!"
Jamie smiled back, attempting to match her energy. "Jamie Tartt, footballer."
