Summary
It happened so quickly. One second, he was arguing with his infuriatingly beautiful husband with his stupid gorgeous freckles and big doe eyes. The next second the car hit a patch of ice. The following ten seconds he lost complete control of the vehicle. The final five seconds he heard a gut wrenching yell from the passenger seat and felt a blinding pain. Summary
When Shane crashes headfirst into the boards, it takes all of Ilya's willpower not to leap onto the ice and pull his partner close.
Because Ilya knows what Shane is like when he's hurt. Knows how badly his mind spirals when he's stuck in place, knows how much he hates relying on others, knows how much he craves the freedom that the ice brings.
But standing by Shane's bedside several hours later, it's not Shane's injury that has Ilya paling, but the words that just came out of his boyfriend's mouth. "Ilya Rozanov? What the fuck are YOU doing here?"
