Louis realized he was waiting to see his face and he sat up, fingertips skating across his face to dispel the tears that had escaped. Armand touched those same fingertips and wiped them dry, his tongue coming out to lap against his bottom lip.
This close Louis could smell him: pink pepper, elemi, and grapefruit. Cinnamon, vetiver, and paprika. He was gripped with the urge to kiss him and the thought made him jerk in surprise, his hands pulling free from where Armand held them.
“Sorry, what did you want to ask me?”
Armand studied him with a calculating eye before leaning in and pressing a small kiss right under his ear. Louis was so surprised and flushed, shuddering into the touch, that he almost missed the question.
“What do you want to eat?”
