After Blaise’s trial, Sebastian is left alone.
Not literally, of course - he still has Kay, and Mr. Edgeworth, and Justine, and some of his coworkers, but in terms of family… there’s no one left. And so, by nature of being the sole DeBeste heir, Sebastian finds himself in sudden possession of all of his father’s belongings - including his house.

Sheik had thought that the doom brought about by his own body had been inescapable. The royal line had required someone to continue it, and he was the last one standing. Now that he was gone, what would remain? Their records burned to ash, no evidence that he’d existed beyond a few belongings. All he’d been – or hadn’t been – would be added to the legends that parents told their children.
Link refused to be sent back to his childhood after Ganondorf’s defeat. Five years later, during one of Link’s rare visits to Hyrule, Sheik realises what the identity he took on during the conflict truly meant to him. Link has an offer: leave Hyrule together.

Link curled in on himself, stifling a whine. Something brushed his hair out of his face, and his eyes fluttered open as he tried to figure out what.
“Wind?” The voice was gentle. “Can you hear me?”
Link couldn’t parse that out enough to figure out why the word wind felt important. His vision was blurry, too, he realized belatedly - all he could see was a big smudge of dark blue.
“Hey, sailor,” another voice murmured, and there was a moment of clinking glass and hushed whispers. Link was too hot and too exhausted to listen in. Goddesses, his head hurt.
Or: Wind gets sick. His brothers take care of him, and each other.

Different cultures had different courting traditions. The Rito were no exception. They carved their matrimonial jewels from stone by hand as a couple, but tumbled and polished the special gems in order to propose. It was frankly...overkill. And Revali didn't ever think he would be one for it.
Which is probably why he never took the time to explain the tradition to Link.

A novelization of a playthrough of Pokemon Platinum, with some... minor changes.
Dawn and any others coming arrive late to the Spear Pillar. Cynthia arrives early. This would go fine if Cyrus didn't decide to leverage the power of not one but two gods to deal with her, sending Cynthia hurtling a year back in time—with full knowledge of what's going to happen, none of her pokemon, and another version of herself running around that absolutely cannot, under any circumstances, find out what happens early.
Oh, and that Buneary has a knife for some reason. That might be more concerning than the time travel and the whole impending doom thing.

“I think…” Link tipped his head back and gazed at the moon. “I think that Sheik is you, and Zelda isn’t. I think you understand somewhere inside you that you’re happier as him, not just because he’s freer or whatever, but because he’s a man. Because you’re a man.” His words were like being made anew. Because you’re a man. There was nothing like it, this mix of elation and fear: somebody who knew him, knew Zelda, witnessing this part of him. Saying I see what you are with none of the horror that Sheik had as it forced itself to the front of his mind.
Sheik needs to confront some things he's been trying to ignore.
