Джейсон, молодой репликант в бегах, ведомый старшим, более опытным репликантом Слэйдом, оказывается в сложной ситуации, когда его выслеживает Дик, охотник за головами, посланный для того, чтобы отправить Джейсона в «отставку» за ужасное преступление — неповиновение человеку. Разумно было бы убить охотника и сбежать, но Джейсон не может не чувствовать связь между собой и Диком, равно как и не может побороть желание помочь ему осознать правду об их «искуственном» существовании, как когда-то осознал её сам; Слэйд явно будет недоволен его решением.

Then all of a sudden the moments slow down, filtering through his mind like the sand in an hourglass, and when he blinks he’s got Hargrove pinned up against the brick with his fists.
Hargrove is momentarily too stunned to do anything about it. He’s still got a cigarette dangling from his mouth. He is also sporting a hell of a shiner, which makes something like satisfaction coil up like a snake in Eddie’s belly.
Apparently Steve doesn’t pull his punches, either.
“The fuck did you do to Harrington?” Eddie asks, his voice so low it’s practically a growl.

It’s perfect, because of course it is.
It’s exactly as if he’d made it for himself. Exactly right. But that’s just Eddie. Just how Eddie is with him.
Steve sees the looks. Catches Eddie watching him. Sees the soft expressions on Eddie’s face. Sees every emotion in Eddie’s big brown eyes. Eddie wears his heart on his sleeve, so it’s basically impossible to miss the fact that he has feelings for Steve.
Or, at least, Eddie thinks he has feelings for Steve, which is nearly the same, but just maybe not quite so bad.

“Your 1985 Prom King is, drumroll please..!”
Kids pound their legs and any nearby tables, some stomping wildly in place and others simply screaming until the noise bouncing around inside the gym seems to make her bones rattle. Robin halfheartedly pats her thighs along to the horrendously out of sync drumroll, eyes narrowed and jaw clenched. It’s going to be him. It’s going to be him, and she’s going to lose what’s left of her sanity, and then since he’s single now he’ll take Tammy home and they’ll have gross sex and he’ll definitely suck at it and Robin could totally do better even though she’s never kissed anyone before. She’d just be better by default because Steve sucks.
