Summary
This was just a child. An unruly child, but nobody malicious. There was still a lot of time to smooth out the edges. If their student was going to look for ways to satiate their bottomless thirst for knowledge either way, better have them do it underneath their eyes than on their own, where Tengen had no control on what they were learning or if they were going to mangle their brain in the process.
The child had potential and it would be a waste not to foster that potential, despite the setbacks along the way.
