“You’re being complicit.” Dabi’s voice takes a darker tone and, consequently, the hand in Eijirou’s hair tightens. Eijirou gasps at the harsh motion, muffled by the muzzle.
“No,” Shouto counters, “I’m just trying to live.”
There’s something in Dabi’s face, in his tight-lipped smile, the unsteady way he breathes, something that tugs at a little corner of Shouto’s mind, begging to be seen. It makes Shouto’s skin crawl, how desperately he wants to help Dabi even though it seems like he’s too far gone.
