“And us?” Mike presses, a sick sense of deja vu creeping coldly over his brain.
Will exhales sharply, “We’re friends. We’re friends! You made sure of that. So I don’t know why you’re so mad at me!”
“Because it was supposed to be me!”
Will blinks, “What are you talking about?”
“I’m mad because it was supposed to be me!” Mike shouts it desperately, like a plea, like this is making him go crazy, and fuck, maybe it is, “After everything—at the end—it was meant to be me. Not him. I don’t want it to be him. I want it to be me.”
Or, Mike doesn't realize his own feelings, until Will's are staring him dead in the face. Vecna's gone, they're nearing the end of their senior year, and all of a sudden Will has a boyfriend. Everything goes downhill pretty quickly from there.

“That’s not my favorite.”
“Oh.” Will blinks. “What is?”
Mike’s tongue darts out to wet his lower lip. “O negative.” Will feels a flush move across his entire body. His magic hums inside of him, excited. His fingers twitch against the carton. Maybe Will was wrong, maybe this is different than having a favorite kind of pizza. More personal. O negative sits differently in Will’s head than double black olives with extra cheese does. More intimate.
“Oh.” Will blinks again. And maybe O negative sits differently in Will’s head, because it also flows through his veins. He feels obligated to tell Mike. “I’m O negative.”
Mike’s pupils widen again. “I know.” His voice is low, gravelly.
Will’s breath hitches again. “You know?” He flinches when Mike’s fingers graze his, peeling the carton out of Will’s hand.
Mike takes a deep breath. “I can smell it.”
Or, five times that Will offered Mike his blood and the one time that Mike accepted.

Will was weeping openly. “And the worst of it,” he whispered, his voice breaking as he forced up a fourth and final finger. He looked at it as if it were a silver-tipped weapon pointed at his own heart. “The very worst of it… is that I would be the author of it. I would be the hand that stops your heart. The mouth that poisons you. Every moment of suffering you ever felt thereafter — every pang of monstrous hunger, every flinch from a memory of sunlight, every tear you shed for the life you lost — would be born of my creation. I would have to look at you, forever, and see my greatest crime wearing your face, speaking with your voice. I cannot… I cannot bear that, Michael.”
He sank to his knees then, defeated. He knelt on the cold floorboards, naked and shivering, his face in his hands. “So don’t ask me,” he begged, his words muffled and wet. “However much you love me, however little you fear the dark… have mercy on me. Don’t ask me to damn you.”
OR: Mike moves into an old house in the early 1800s, and ends up accidentally living with Vampire Will. They fall in love.

Summary
Will's a true sorcerer. Right after the truth comes to light in the middle of a battlefield, Mike Wheeler finds himself more amazed and enamored with Will than he'd like to admit. However, they don't have time to celebrate the peace, because not much after that, Vecna comes back, determined to take what Will loves the most if he isn't by his side in this war. The Demos try to take Mike, but right before he enters the Upside Down, Will jumps and goes with him.
They're together now. In the Upside Down. But they're alone too, with a long journey ahead of them. Mike knows nothing can go wrong. After all, the only thing Will has accepted is that now he has powers, right?

Mike and Will end up alone in the Upside Down, and Vecna targets both of them. (Complete rewrite of Stranger Things' ending).

His fluffy hair at the front, clumped pieces at the back where he’d slid his fingers in a mere few minutes before. His pretty green eyes that look hazel or even brown in this light, the dark circles he gets when he drinks framing them like intricate paintings. A satisfied, bloody smile.
Mike isn’t satisfied. He swallows thickly, choking down the words 'don’t you want more?'
Or: Will dresses as a vampire for a college halloween party, but Mike thinks his costume isn’t bloody enough. Will lets him fix it. Mike goes into a crisis.

“Take me,” he repeated, his voice still shaky, but he held Vecna’s gaze. “Take me instead of Holly. I’ll come to you. I won’t fight. Just finish it already.”
Vecna was silent for a long, agonizing moment, but then, a smile curled across his twisted face.
“Deal.”---
Will offers himself to Vecna in exchange for Holly’s safety.
