Dick Grayson is seventeen on the day he chooses to face Slade Wilson again.
Some things you lose and can’t ever find again. Some things you drop and leave behind. Some things you just have to learn how to carry with you.
(They’ll call that the Nightwing Protocol, if he survives.)

“Okay,” Dick says quietly, tracking the intricacies of his own heartbeat—counting the space between breaths. “Guess I did need a shave.”
(With faltering steps, Dick and Damian become Batman and Robin.)

Faced with a concussion and mandatory rest, he has a lot of time to think, and that's never good for someone in their line of business.
OR: An injury threatens to scar Dick's face, and it brings up a lot of things in him, things he hadn't realized were even there. The family acts and reacts.

Remus wanted someone like us and he held out for so long because he expected he would get sent a bunch of finicky artsy types. I don’t think he expected you. And now that you’re here, I don’t think he quite knows what to do with you.”
