Summary
This is basically a novel I wrote that happens after the end of the series. This story is mainly about growth of the characters and their lives afterwards and contains a lot of world and character building. There are more relationships and characters than listed but they would be spoilers so I left them out of the description. Life goes on for the characters of Evangelion, I hope you enjoy reading this story of it.

Summary
In the wasteland created by Third Impact, the three surviving Evangelion Pilots wrestled with their pain, their guilt, their fragile sanity, and their mutual attraction for over a year only to finally give in and share a night of passion together. Finally, they were able to lower their defenses and let themselves forget everything and just be happy together.
But this is not the story of that night.

This is a pretty light work because I believe happy endings are possible and okay and don't have to cost the characters everything.
Divergence Fic where Instrumentality/rewriting reality isn't an option. Picks up at the end of Advance and runs until I felt it was done.
I borrow a fair number of ideas from TV timeline, so spoilers for that I guess?

Shinji Ikari was a lot of things. He’d known quite a few of them from a young age. He was socially inept, a loner, not half bad at the cello, and a bit spineless. Of course, his crippling self-doubt painted him in a far worse light than the reality would’ve mirrored. Things didn’t change for the longest time, life all but stagnating like a lifeless pond. That was, of course, up until he finally got in the damn Eva. Even then, things felt like they only got worse, more complicated and confusing for the poor young boy, at least for a time.
Despite what was little less than the full weight of the world on his shoulders, only partially relieved by his fellow Eva pilots, Shinji found himself growing more and more accustomed to looking forward to what tomorrow might bring. Life wasn’t perfect, of course, what with one particular girl bringing him just as much trouble and pain as she did joy, and sometimes not even that. These are a hundred of many ways Shinji Ikari could spend a day in the Apocalypse with Asuka Langley Souryuu.
