Summary
Pannacotta Fugo and Leone Abbacchio were best friends. In a devastating car accident, Fugo dies. His heart is donated to Bruno Buccellati who gives Leone a strange sense of home. As Leone feels the beat of Fugo's heart one last time, Bruno suggests that they travel the world in order to see every sight Fugo has ever wanted to see.
(Under some circumstances, however, this turns out to be a group trip.)

In the previous years, seven boys had travelled from different places in South Korea to New York City where they hoped to start new lives and new careers. Now, with the city destroyed, the entire state quarantined and little to no hope of survival, these seven have to band together to escape.

Summary
Reiner just wants Bertholdt to open his eyes and keep them open until dawn. He knows it's selfish. He knows his ally desperately needs sleep but the screams shake him to the core. He's tired of brushing tears away from Bertholdt's warm but flushed cheeks, every time he jolts awake from another nightmare about the past and what is meant to unfold in the future.
Bertholdt hasn't heard of the term "clairvoyant". In fact, not many of the trainees in the 104th training corps associate that word with a person who can see the future because as far as anyone knows, the future doesn't matter. Some have lost hope and believe that all that waits for them in the end, is death. Bertholdt is no different because as soon as he drifts away from the star-speckled dusk each night, death is all he sees.

“He is!” Yamaguchi fails to see the issue here, still reeling from her unexpected disapproval. He kind of thought Yachi would be on board, or find it funny. But who is he kidding, this is Yachi, of course she’s going to worry. “First of all, I’m his best friend, I’m allowed to admire him! And second, I was drunk when I told you that! In confidence, I might add!”
“Well, what happens when you fall in love with him for real?”
Yamaguchi stops breathing for a second. Oh, yeah. That would be an issue.
