“How did you fly two hours without shoes and not notice?”
“It was an hour and forty-five minutes actually. New record,” he says and grins at him.
“Shit, Sam. Wanted to see me that badly, huh?” Bucky says with a little laugh.
“Maybe I did,” Sam replies with a shrug.
He can see Bucky’s head turn to look at him from the corner of his eye, but he refuses to turn. He’s not sure what made him say it. He’s not sure what’s made him say a lot of things lately. But he doesn’t want to think about it or the way that Bucky’s been looking at him or how he just flew to New York in the middle of the goddamn night because he couldn’t sleep and he needed to see his friend.
