Summary
Nancy looked cuter than ever, her hair pinned up, curls fluffy once again. She wore a shirt that Robin had never seen before. Did she.. did she mean to wear a rainbow across her chest? Did Nancy know that was a gay symbol?
Nancy caught her eye and winked at her. “I love your outfit,” she said. “It looks like something Frog and Toad would wear.”
Robin laughed, “I guess it does. I love your shirt! It’s super cute!” And gay, she thought. Nancy thanked her and smiled, looking down shyly. Robin turned away to help load up the boxes. Mrs. Wheeler came out with another box and set it in front of her daughter. Robin couldn’t help but eavesdrop.
“Mr. Rabbit!” Nancy exclaimed, holding up an old, well-loved stuffed bunny.
“It’s okay if you want to save him, you know,” Karen Wheeler smiled kindly.But Nancy was resolved to give away her childhood things. “No, he’ll get more love in a new home,” she said, placing Mr. Rabbit back on top of the box.

Nancy stared at her, her expression shifted. Not angry. Not hurt. Focused. Eerily similar to her I'm gonna commit a crime face. “Robin.”
“Nancy?” Robin tilted her head. “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Nancy stepped closer. Close enough that Robin’s back brushed the edge of the desk behind her. Then her hands fell to Robin's hips, keeping her in place,
“Robin Buckley,” Nancy deliberately tipped her head up so their gazes were locked, “I underestimated how catastrophically bad you're at social cues.”
Robin huffed. “Rude, I told you I was.”
“Look at me.”
Robin did. She always did when Nancy asked like that.
“We have been dating,” Nancy said slowly, enunciating every word, “for nearly six months.”
