Summary
After Billy comes back from being trapped in the Upside Down for two months, he's told that Neil is missing. Which, honestly, is both a relief and a jitter-inducing nightmare because he has no idea when (or if) Neil will come back. But then Billy starts wondering where the money went, and why Steve was so angry he didn't get a funeral. So he investigates.
Billy ends up getting a lot more than he bargained for.

Summary
A couple months after the incident at the Byers' House, Billy starts acting weird, it isn't until Steve sees a hand shaped bruise on Max's wrist that it all seems to click into place.

It isn’t until Max shows up to his house one day with an angry purple bruise wrapped around her wrist like a bracelet made of pain, the size of it too large to possibly be made by her brother, and Billy’s face is covered in cuts, his haunted eyes swathed in ugly yellow, green, and indigo, all visible even from Steve’s place on the front porch, that the missing piece of the puzzle presented itself. It is a violent, rageful crimson while the rest of the puzzle is just an angry gray, its jagged and torn edges looking as if they won't fit with the rest, but it does. It clicks right into place as Max flinches when Dustin spills his soda on the carpet and Steve feels his stomach churn at the action.

Summary
Max gets an odd feeling as she returns home from a day out with her friends. Her instincts are telling her something is wrong, and as she gets closer to the bedrooms at the back of the house, she finds out why. She sees Billy on his bedroom floor, bloody and beaten, and his father standing over him without a scratch and without a care in the world. Max is repulsed by the scene. She's angry, she's scared, and she knows she has to do something about it as soon as she can. She knows that Billy needs her.

“Harrington.” Billy found Steve huddled in a corner, arms wrapped around his knees and visibly shivering…and partial shifted into the prettiest feline Billy had ever seen.“Oh holy hell.” Billy’s steps slowed and his eyes went wide when he caught a glimpse of porcelain fangs gleaming white behind red lips, the ripple of additional muscle bulging beneath Steve’s tight polo and twin tips of soft, furry ears peaking through the tangled mess of hair. "Look at you."
"B-Billy?" Steve blinked glazed, green and gold eyes up at him sluggishly. "Help me."
"Don't you worry, Pretty kitty." Billy knelt in front of him and reached to cup Steve's chin. "I'm gonna take care of you."
