In an AU where Hannibal/Alana never happened and Will wasn't incarcerated, who would provide Hannibal with an alibi that morning after the dinner party?
"Will crept towards the other entrance, sensing his cue was about to present itself. He ruffled his already wild hair even more.
This had better work.
'Anyone besides you can verify that?'
Will let the silence hang heavy for a split second past comfortable before finally stepping into the room, rubbing imaginary sleep from his eyes, and folding his arms over his bare chest.
'I can.'
Jack's jaw dropped before he could stop himself. As much as Will enjoyed the shock flashing through the stern man's eyes, he enjoyed the look on Hannibal's face much, much more. It was absolutely dripping with bewilderment and, more thrillingly, desire at the sight of him disheveled and in nothing but his underwear. He could have sworn he even heard Hannibal squeak quietly in surprise.
Will tried to not blush as he leaned casually against the doorway. 'I was here with Hannibal all night, Jack. What are you accusing him of?'"
OR: What if the gay murder husbands weren’t as dumb with their feelings?

Summary
When one Will Graham first stepped into Hannibal's coffee shop, Hannibal had thought he was a vampire at first. Or perhaps a very fresh and particularly pretty ghoul. The scent of death hung around him like a pervasive fog, and he was so exhausted it was an easy mistake to make. Only upon approaching him and speaking to him did Hannibal realize he was a human.

Hannibal leaned in close, long fingers tightening painfully, and pressed his teeth against Will’s neck. For a fraction of a second, Will felt his heart skip a beat, but then he realized Hannibal’s mouth was far too high for a mating bite.
He swallowed heavily and felt those teeth dig into his skin. No, that was definitely not the promise of mating. It was a threat.

Summary
The air shifts. A shudder that vibrates between the space of them. Primal and dangerous. Will can’t help but meet Hannibal’s eyes and sees the shadow of something powerful. Something that most men would tremble in front of.
And with a blink it is quickly locked away again, sealed tight inside Hannibal. Left behind is a someone who appears far too in control of the situation.

In that moment, Will understands that Hannibal considers himself above it all; above authority, moral law, and human sentiment. It’s no wonder Hannibal is in the middle of a forest with 4 bodies.
An apocalypse AU where Will Graham is barely surviving the new world of violence and hysteria. A chance encounter with Hannibal has him rethinking what it is to be human.

Part Three of the AU where Hannibal is a troubled FBI profiler and Will is a psychiatrist and serial killer.
When Hannibal holds the case file out to him Will looks at it guardedly, the way one might regard a snake that may or may not be venomous. After a beat, he leans forward and takes it.
“Heavy,” Will comments. He looks up at Hannibal. “Am I being accused of something?”
“These aren’t yours,” Hannibal says. He adds, perhaps a bit too quickly, “I wouldn’t want you to think that I considered the possibility that they might be.”
Will raises an eyebrow. “That bad?”

Hannibal is a renowned art critic who's utterly unimpressed.
When he writes a scathing review of Will's performance, Will invites him to a private showing of Rhythm 0. Things take a decidedly sexual and dangerous turn, especially when Will realizes there's more to Hannibal than meets the eye.

Summary
Hannibal pulls him away, tilts him back just enough so that Will’s more or less upright again. His eyes slid shut at some point, and it feels too exhausting to peel them open, so when Will feels the touch of something slick and hard against his lips, he opens out of surprise more than anything else. Spicy liquor prickles against his tongue, and he swallows reflexively.
Will has a drinking problem. Hannibal makes it better, but first he makes it much worse.

They notice each other immediately. Like recognizes like, and neither of them truly belong at the funerals they attend. Hannibal is fascinated by Will's terrible empathy, and Will knows immediately that Hannibal is a serial killer. None of that stops them from wanting to get closer.
