Sandrock has always been a town full of secrets just bursting at the seams to get out into the world. First it was the remnants of the past buried deep beneath the town that drove the frenzied relic rush of yesteryear… but nowadays? It’s the dark Duvosian plot unfolding right under their noses to, among other things, keep them down and out- forever. Maybe a newly minted Builder from Highwind is exactly what Sandrock needs to shed a new light on the whole thing... if only they would've had the guts to show up!
Enter Ink. A scrappy ex-spy and (incidental) traitor to her country, Duvos, who's got nothing to lose and everything to gain by taking on the abandoned role of Builder that this dilapidated town so desperately needs... After all, Ink and Sandrock are both shells of their former glory, hanging on by tenuous threads. Maybe those threads will snap under the weight of betrayal and fear, or maybe Ink can find it in herself to fully step into the Light and bring hope to an otherwise hopeless place that changes the tides of fate- hers, and Sandrock's both.

Summary
A great deal has changed since Ink's first "birthday" in Sandrock... and yet, somehow, much has stayed the same as well. Meaning that Ink still largely dislikes the whole ordeal and the attention it garners, but she can now admit that she's in a good enough place to weather a lot of the stress of it... Miguel helps to make it worthwhile to her.
(This takes place during my fic For the Sake of Survival, Sunlight and Our Souls in the year 99, specifically on Autumn 3rd. Can be read as standalone!)
