    “I hate this,” Anakin announces and tilts his head up to the early afternoon sky as if blaming a higher power for his present circumstances. “If we were meant to be in the water, we’d have gills!”

    “If man was meant to fly, he’d have wings,” Obi-Wan reminds him, setting a splayed hand on his bare lower back. “One more step into the water. You can do it,” he cajoles.

    “Flying is awesome. This just sucks. Nothing slimy tries to rub up against you in the sky.”

    “I feel there’s a few airline stewardesses that would disagree with that.”

    Anakin's laughter is low and genuine, expelled out of him like a cough. Obi-Wan does his best not to feel smug.

    (Lifeguard!Obi-Wan tries to teach thalassophobic Anakin to swim. It goes surprisingly well. Mostly.)
