Summary
“I thought you’d be a black tea person,” Atsushi says.
“Hm.”
“But you chose jasmine.”
“I choose what suits the hour.” Akutagawa doesn’t look away from the dark sidewalk. “And the company.”
The umbrella jerks with how hard Atsushi nearly trips over a puddle. He swallows, keeps his hands steady on the handle. The word company sticks with him, warm and fluttering where it shouldn’t.
—
atsushi takes a night job at a tea shop and learns about timing, patience, and how the leaves open when treated properly. somewhere along the way, the work becomes something he looks forward to. so does the regular who keeps coming in near closing.

Summary
From the side of the kotatsu emerged two tufts of hair, black and white, poking out like a pair of lazy cats.
“…You’ve got to be kidding me.” Chuuya set the bag down, lifting out two containers still hot enough to fog the lid. Cream stew, rich and white, scent wafting through the sterile apartment. He placed it neatly on the kotatsu table like he was dropping off medicine. “I thought you were sick. That text,” his eyes narrowed, “but you’re just busy canoodling.”
Akutagawa’s eyes snapped open. His voice came out flat. “We are not canoodling.”
“Yes, we are,” Atsushi said defensively, blinking awake.

Summary
"Hello?" Hijikata says. The voice that comes out of the phone is slightly tinny but distinctively smooth.
"Is this Shinsengumi Vice-Commander Hijikata Toushiro?" Hijikata's mystery caller asks.
"Yeah," Hijikata says. "Who is this?"
"I'd like to set an appointment." The person on the other end of the line says. "8 o'clock, Saturday evening. I'll text you the address."
"Sorry?" Hijikata frowns, taking the phone away from his ear to check the caller ID- Unknown, as he had seen when he had picked up the phone. "Who the hell is this?"
"It's about Sakata Gintoki." The voice says. "8 o'clock. Don't be late."
The dial tone sounds as they hang up. Hijikata glares at his phone.
"What the hell was that?" He mutters.

Or: If you want to date Sakata Gintoki, you might have to deal with a few other Joi Rebel idiots first.
Or #2: Katsura, Sakamoto, and Takasugi all give Hijikata the shovel talk. In their own unique ways.

“No. Not at all. I just–” Atsushi stumbles over her words, looking dreadfully bashful. Lovely eyes averted, cheeks cherry. “I’m on my period,” she mumbles.
Without missing a beat, Akutagawa replies, “And?”

Summary
Akutagawa’s hand slipped lower. His belt unbuckled with terrifying precision, the cool slide of fingers against heated skin making Atsushi jolt and gasp outright. The sensation burned and thrilled all at once, pleasure spiking up his spine. He bit back a noise, clutching harder at Akutagawa’s shoulders, and then—
“Is everything okay here?” A voice rang down the hall, closer with each step. “Heard something loud!”
They broke apart like they’d been burned, scrambling so fast it was a miracle neither of them cracked their skulls on the wall. Atsushi caught on the edge of his half-unbuckled pants and went down hard, landing with a graceless thump that knocked the breath out of him.
Which left him on his ass. Directly in front of Akutagawa. Face level with — oh god.
“He tripped and fell,” Akutagawa said flatly, the picture of deadpan denial.
