Summary
You haven't exactly been in the best situation these last few years, with your boyfriend being an abusive asshole, your job being hell, and you only having one friend in the terrifying and claustrophobic city that is New York. One day, you literally fall into the arms of a sweet stranger who doesn't seem to be much of a talker, and for whatever reason, you can't help but feel safe around him. Good thing he happens to live next door.

EDIT 5/28/25: This vintage little fic is picking up again post Thunderbolts* (heyyy fellow Bucky Lovers) and seeing new comments and kudos made me come back to it and want to fix up my 18-year-old creative writing. I've gotten two degrees in English since this fic was originally started, so hopefully I can edit and brush up some of this story to fit my current standards, or at least make it more readable. Editing one chapter at a time and doing it slowly, but I hope new and old readers alike can still get some joy out of it!
