Stephanie sat in the back with Louis, eyes lowered, shoulders trembling. She wasn’t sobbing openly anymore. Just… Sniffle. Pause. Tear. Sniffle. Again. Louis leaned in, whispering reassurances, patting her hand like a malfunctioning metronome, thumb brushing her wrist in slow, grounding circles. “It’s okay,” he whispered. “I’m here.”
Sniffle.
Albert sat in the front passenger seat, stared straight ahead, posture impeccable, pretending none of this was happening. (Privacy)
William sat beside Sherlock in the back seat.
Mycroft drove in silence.
And Sherlock—Sherlock snapped.
Not loudly. Not dramatically.
Just… tiredly and most importantly passive-aggressively lethal.
He glanced in the rear-view mirror, voice tight, thin, pinched with restraint that had long expired. “…At this rate, we’re going to have a tsunami in this car.”
Silence.
Or Louis wanted a peaceful post-wedding, but that is impossible when you have Sherlock in your family.

A-Yuan stood at the window, hands pressed to the glass, breath fogging it up as he admired the snowfall with the solemn expression of a poet who had seen too much. He sighed dramatically. “It’s freezing as hell,” he announced to the room, like a government bulletin. Then, with the confidence of someone who believed consequences were optional, he added, “So I won’t bathe today.”
Silence.
Lan Zhan was on the sofa, calmly flipping a page of his book. He hummed once, low and absentminded, the sound of a man who had accepted the laws of nature and moved on, thinking—skipping one day won’t kill anyone, the sound of a man who had already accepted winter as a hostile force and was mentally prioritising warmth over morality.
A-Yuan perked up immediately. Validation acquired. He continued, emboldened. “Water is basically ice. Today is not a bathing day.”
Wei Ying slowly set his mug down.
Or, A-Yuan doesn't want to bathe, but that is impossible in this household atleast.

Wei Ying squinted. “Why are you holding socks and a big packet?”
A-Yuan lifted the socks. Then the packet. Then—this child, this menace—tilted his chin toward the window and gestured with his elbow, like obviously this was self-explanatory.
“I’m keeping it there,” he announced. “I hope I get something tomorrow morning.”

Written in Lan Huan’s famously neat handwriting.And yet—silence.
Inside Wei Ying’s mind, a storm brewed.
Five marks in physics… five also in maths… Why? WHY?
Did he not check twice? Did the calculator betray him? Did he forget to carry the one?

This is Modern AU, where we will see the lives of Lan Zhan (A-Die), Wei Ying (Baba) and Lan Sizhui (A-Yuan) and how chaotic their lives are, with Baba being your typical Asian mom, causing drama every time (he can't live without drama). Lan Jingyi is the son of Lan Huan and Jiang Cheng. Jin Ling is like in the canon- son of Jiang Yanli and Jin Zixuan. Wei Ying's parents are alive here; therefore, he isn't adopted by the Jiang family, but they are friends. Read how the calm, composed and cool-headed A-Die, barely composed A-Yuan and typical Asian mom type Baba pass their days. Peace is officially the end for this family 🤪.
