Caitlyn's not sure exactly what she was expecting when she first walked into that classroom, but what she had found had thrown her for such a loop it almost made her dizzy. It’s almost ridiculous how attractive Vi is. Simply, mathematically, it does not add up. There has to be a catch somewhere, Caitlyn reasons.
The catch, apparently, is that Vi is her coworker, teetering on the edge of being too old for her, and their families absolutely despise each other.
Or: Caitlyn and Vi were both injured in the same freak accident 13 years ago and are supposed to hate each other. Somehow they both end up teaching at the same university. Chaos ensues.

“Us, actually,” Caitlyn clarifies, handing the box over to Vi so that she can examine them for herself, taking one of the little vibrators between her fingers and investigating the little device like it’s some kind of obscene talisman. “Listen to the terms of my proposition before you make any decisions. Vi’s words were slow and low in her throat like they were weighed down by exhaustion. She filled the doorway to the kitchen, just as tall as Caitlyn remembered, but something had changed. Vi had always been powerfully built, her body threaded with muscles that wrapped tightly around each limb; now she was broad, burly, her muscles big and strong and soft all at once. She was the same Vi with the same tattoos and the same short hair pushed back from her forehead, but the woman in front of Caitlyn had this new, large presence that seemed to pull everything in the room towards her like the sun.
Then she yawned and sniffed the air. “You making coffee?”
