Dana raised an eyebrow. “Never seen a coffee pot?”
“Like, I’ve never seen the pot itself, you know? Just, like, the espresso machines at Starbucks, Keurigs—those sort of things.”
Dana’s arched eyebrow ticked up a centimeter higher as she squinted at Emma for a long moment.
Abruptly anxious beneath her scrutiny, Emma reached for her waist to fidget with something, only to remember the charge nurse had plucked most of her belongings from her pockets on arrival. She settled with flicking her name badge between her fingers.
“Kid, are you younger than this coffee maker?”

There’s a dangerous gleam below the usual haze, and slowly but steadily, the corners of Jabber’s mouth tug into an impossibly broad grin. He wipes his nose with the entire length of his sleeve, and Zanka can’t tear his eyes away from the tongue that darts out to catch some of the blood running down his face. When he smiles, his teeth are coated in red, and the sight makes Zanka’s stomach flip.

Enjin notices it first, eyes going wide and unable to look away. Zanka doesn’t say anything, just lets him get an eyeful of the ten, pretty silver rings decorating his fingers and pretending that they’ve always been there, that they belong there.
Zanka takes good care of vital instruments. It’s why he’s considered the best at handling them, after all.

Summary
Teaching Rudo how to fight came with three major benefits:
1. Rudo could hold his own already, which meant Jabber could be tough on him.
2. It was surprisingly fun, the two getting along well in and out of the ring.
3. Rudo's dad was hot ASF.Jabber, on his own, decided that he'd be a GREAT influence on Rudo, unlike the hard ass that got between them the first time they met. They exchanged a couple hits, and eventually contact info, and started a perilous training journey - but he was going to turn Rudo into a killing machine! With the additional perk of getting ****** up by Rudo's dad one way or another... Jabber just needed to make sure he keeps his head on straight.

Summary
Coming to a decision, he steps closer, stooping down to wrap his arms around Jabber’s knees and lifting the raider in one swift motion, throwing him over his shoulder before he begins stalking off. Jabber makes a weird, indecipherable sound as he’s heaved upward, something that might have been an excited squeal.
“Whoa!” He yelps, flailing a bit as he tries to look at Zanka, despite the awkward positioning. “Where are you taking me, Zan-Zan?” He couldn’t sound more excited about this development if he tried, and the thought has Zanka snorting quietly to himself.
“Somewhere we can battle, obviously. I’m not fightin’ ya outside a’ cleaner HQ.”
“Why not? You afraid of havin’ a little audience? Or is it that you don’t want them to watch the way we fight?” The raider’s voice glides down Zanka’s spine, slow like syrup, and he says the word ‘fight’ as if it meant ‘fuck’, which promptly empties Zanka’s mind of nearly all its thoughts.
Or, five times Zanka picks up Jabber, and one time something comes of it.
